These are the Terms and Conditions governing the use of this Service and the agreement that operates between You and the Developer. These Terms and Conditions set out the rights and obligations of all users regarding the use of the Service.
Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on Your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions apply to all visitors, users and others who access or use the Service.
By accessing or using the Service You agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If You disagree with any part of these Terms and Conditions then You may not access the Service.
You represent that you are over the age of 16. The Developer does not permit those under 16 to use the Service, as the Service is designed for University College London students.
Your access to and use of the Service is also conditioned on Your acceptance of and compliance with the UCL API Terms of Service. Our use of the UCL API (a student society formerly affiliated with UCL Student Union) is governed by the UCL API Terms of Service and by using our Application, you agree to comply with these terms as well.
Our Service requires You to authenticate using Your UCL email address through UCL's OAuth system. We do not store Your UCL credentials. Authentication is processed directly by UCL's systems.
When You use the Application, You will be redirected to UCL's authentication service to log in. After successful authentication, You will be redirected back to the Application with appropriate access tokens that allow the Application to access the UCL API on Your behalf.
The Service does not collect or store Your personal data. The Service functions solely as an interface to access information provided by the UCL API using Your authenticated UCL account.
All data displayed in the Application comes directly from the UCL API. Any data processing is minimal and limited to what is necessary to present the information from the UCL API in the Application.
Our edge function is used solely to assist with UCL API redirection and data parsing, and does not store user data.
In accordance with UK data protection laws, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are committed to protecting Your privacy. While we do not collect personal data, we respect Your rights regarding any data that might be processed through our Service.
By using the DashUCL Application, You are also agreeing to comply with all of the UCL API Terms of Service. The following sections highlight key aspects of the UCL API Terms that You must adhere to, but this is not exhaustive - You must review and comply with the complete UCL API Terms of Service.
You agree not to attempt to exceed or circumvent limitations on access, calls, and use of the UCL API ("Rate Limits"), or otherwise use the UCL API in a manner that exceeds reasonable request volume, constitutes excessive or abusive usage, or otherwise fails to comply with the UCL API Terms of Service.
You agree to receive periodical service, update and/or maintenance emails being sent to your UCL email address. These are essential to keeping you informed about the API, updates to it, breaking changes and security action points that must be communicated in a timely manner.
If the Application caches any data from the UCL API:
If use of the UCL APIs is terminated for any reason, all Data and any other information stored pursuant to the use of the UCL APIs must be permanently deleted, except when doing so would cause a violation of any law or obligation imposed by a governmental authority.
You agree to report any security deficiencies in, or intrusions to, the Application or systems related to the UCL API to UCL in writing via email to isd.apiteam@ucl.ac.uk. This includes any unauthorized access, use, disclosure or destruction of Data.
You acknowledge that the UCL API is still evolving, and UCL needs the flexibility to occasionally make changes to their APIs, including backwards incompatible ones. Parts of the UCL API are undocumented, including certain methods, events, and properties. Given that these undocumented aspects of the API may change at any time, you should not rely on these behaviors.
You may not use the Application or UCL API in violation of any law or regulation, or rights of any person, including but not limited to intellectual property rights, rights of privacy, or rights of personality.
You may not use the Application to transmit any viruses or other computer programming that may damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept, or expropriate any system or data.
You will not knowingly use the Application or Data to violate the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, including without limitation Articles 12, 18, or 19. You will not conduct analyses or research that isolates a small group of individuals or any single individual for any unlawful or discriminatory purposes.

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by the Developer.
The Developer has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services, including the UCL API. You further acknowledge and agree that the Developer shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such websites or services.
We strongly advise You to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of any third-party websites or services that You visit, including the UCL API Terms of Service.
We may terminate or suspend Your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if You breach these Terms and Conditions or the UCL API Terms of Service.
Upon termination, Your right to use the Service will cease immediately.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Developer be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever (including, but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, loss of data or other information, for business interruption, for personal injury, loss of privacy arising out of or in any way related to the use of or inability to use the Service, third-party software and/or third-party hardware used with the Service, or otherwise in connection with any provision of these Terms), even if the Developer has been advised of the possibility of such damages and even if the remedy fails of its essential purpose.
The Service is provided to You "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" and with all faults and defects without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, the Developer expressly disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise, with respect to the Service, including all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement, and warranties that may arise out of course of dealing, course of performance, usage or trade practice. Without limitation to the foregoing, the Developer provides no warranty or undertaking, and makes no representation of any kind that the Service will meet Your requirements, achieve any intended results, be compatible or work with any other software, applications, systems or services, operate without interruption, meet any performance or reliability standards or be error free or that any errors or defects can or will be corrected.
Without limiting the foregoing, the Developer does not make any representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied: (i) as to the operation or availability of the Service, or the information, content, and materials or products included thereon; (ii) that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free; (iii) as to the accuracy, reliability, or currency of any information or content provided through the Service; or (iv) that the Service, its servers, the content, or e-mails sent from or on behalf of the Developer are free of viruses, scripts, trojan horses, worms, malware, timebombs or other harmful components.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain types of warranties or limitations on applicable statutory rights of a consumer, so some or all of the above exclusions and limitations may not apply to You. But in such a case the exclusions and limitations set forth in this section shall be applied to the greatest extent enforceable under applicable law.
The laws of the United Kingdom, excluding its conflicts of law rules, shall govern these Terms and Your use of the Service. Your use of the Application may also be subject to other local, state, national, or international laws.
If You have any concern or dispute about the Service, You agree to first try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting the Developer through the email address: kaibin.zhang.23@ucl.ac.uk.
If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom, you may also be entitled to refer a dispute to the Financial Ombudsman Service or European Commission Online Dispute Resolution platform.
If You are a consumer in the European Union or United Kingdom, you will benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you are resident.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Except as provided herein, the failure to exercise a right or to require performance of an obligation under these Terms shall not effect a party's ability to exercise such right or require such performance at any time thereafter nor shall the waiver of a breach constitute a waiver of any subsequent breach.
We reserve the right, at Our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material We will make reasonable efforts to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at Our sole discretion.
By continuing to access or use Our Service after those revisions become effective, You agree to be bound by the revised terms. If You do not agree to the new terms, in whole or in part, please stop using the Application.
